Porsche Friendly Pubs/Places ?
Discussion
I find I'm forever looking on google for nice places to go at the weekends with the Mrs. Places which have somewhere decent to park the Cayman where I don't need to worry about it.
We went down to Brighton last weekend to make the most of the weather, even had a swim in the sea. I was contemplating taking the Porsche for once as we always go in her Mini. But I'm glad we didn't as parking down there is pretty ridiculous.
So I thought I'd put a shout out to you fellow Porsche owners to see if you have any recommended spots. Either for pub lunch, picnic spots, scenic walks, afternoon tea etc etc
Looking for places in the NORTH SURREY or NORTH WEST KENT area ideally.
We live in Croydon, South London and normally head down towards Westerham as that's the 'safe' place... But I'd like to broaden my horizons.
HAS to be somewhere with plenty of space to park a nice car, without worrying about door dings or getting the mirrors knocked off!!!! No busy town NCP car parks etc.
Cheers,

It’s not open yet but this is going to be mega, popped down last weekend to see how things were progressing. Sounds perfect for you as it’ll be a Road house for car lovers. : http://caffeineandmachine.com you can see some of the progress they’re making on renovations here https://www.instagram.com/caffeineandmachine/
I went to school with the guy who’s starting this up, sounds like the plan is for it to be a hub for all car enthusiasts, his own collection of air cooled machinery is epic.

Literally anywhere will be fine. Its Surrey not Baghdad. No one will even notice it. A Cayman is probably going to be a bit 'council' for a lot of places

Honestly though dont worry about it AT ALL.
That's not the point.
I DO worry about it.
It's probably 1 of <10 in the country in this colour. So almost irreplaceable should the worst ever happen. And certainly not only going to be spare change to fix any repairs. It may be a peasants car to some but it's a lot more precious to me.
So if you don't have anything good to contribute please move on.

But can't say I've EVER seen one of those on the roads in my lifetime.
Actually tell a lie, I saw a 918 parked up at a Porsche meet once. Didn't see it rolling though..

Funnily enough I've already come across this :-)I went to school with the guy who’s starting this up, sounds like the plan is for it to be a hub for all car enthusiasts, his own collection of air cooled machinery is epic.
One of the guys at work knows the guy too I think. Either that or he knows someone who knows him.

I'm sure it will be amazing, but by god is that website a pretentious load of hipster waffle, it just needs a tattoo studio and beard trimming salon to finish it off.V800MJH said:

go a bit further south from Westerham - there are lovely country pubs below the south downs, loads of choice, but i would suggest the Leicester Arms in Penshurst, or the Rock in Chiddingstone Hoath - I can guarantee that no one will bat an eyelid at a Porsche, as lots of the regulars drive pretty special cars, so you car will not be molested or unsafe. plus you'll get some decent nosh and drink, in a stunningly beautiful setting. It does sound like somewhere I'd avoid like the plague

If you need to contact me, I'll be here :

The phone signal is amazing ...
(if you prefer to remain incommunicado)
Head out to Edenbridge, Hever Castle etc
Go through Westerham head out to Sevenoaks, Knole Park and some good pubs nearby all with big car parks.
A Kentish tour out through the B roads to tenterden, lunch at Chapel Down.
Get out early to beat the traffic and Lycra louts so at least half the drive is enjoyable.

If you would prefer to park and sit outside on bench or at a table whilst admiring your car whilst the mrs chats s
t about a cheap holiday / garden centre trip / random nonsence, then try these...
Chimneys ide hill nr sevenoaks
Little Brown Jug chiddingstone
Chiddingstone castle has a pub nearby on a super quiet back road. Cant remember its name
Take the route through Warlingham to westerham and into the lanes thereafter
As an alternative.. a few others that provide good early morning breakfast parking
Fish farm cafe near Hawkhurst kent. Afterward go to bodium castle less than 5 mins driveaway
Or
For the largest car parking space in london... Head to Regents Park on a sunday morning pre 8am and park right by the serpantine in the car park immediately adjacent to the bridge on carridge drive. the corner parking space is chuffing enormous and then have breakfast at the serpantine cafe.. have pleasant walk and then fight through the traffic back home!
Yes I am sad but these have all become "safe" favorites.

Exactly the sort of reply I'm after. Good to have somewhere to actually head towards rather than aimlesly driving.

But seriously, it's Scotland, and I hope to be heading up there mid to late September. Cayman R owner/drivers welcome

That does sound appealing..... I'll keep my eyes posted for any updates on that. I do love a road trip.
