987 PSE Pops and Bangs Success

Managed to get my 987.2 CS with PSE to pop and bang on the overrun this evening, all I did was undo and slide away the clamp connecting the 2 mufflers as in this photo:



The downside is there’s a terrible drone and vibration throughout the rev range, which deafens you and anyone within 300m whenever you touch the accelerator.

I really wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. I’d have slid the clamp back immediately but it’s still too hot.

Worth a go though, if only to prove to myself that Porsche did quite a good job in the first place.

Putting 200 cell cats in the manifolds will help.

On the 987.1 installing a Carnewal GT exhaust back box introduced tasteful pops and bangs for me, but that was also because there was a secondary cat in the back box that Gert deleted.
