did a 440 mile round trip yesterday in my 113,000+ Spyder and I really feel compelled to get this off my chest . . .
The Spyder returned over 35mpg @ an average of 61mph!!!!!
I know, I know and I am truly sorry for my behaviour - Mrs Khushy was in the car with me and I kept being told to drive sensibly for the whole journey - I normally get at least 25mpg as an average when I am on my own - sorry!

I think it's quite fun to do once in a while, when there is a particularly boring route ahead. 440 miles is a bit of a stretch mind....
You are forgiven, I've managed 41 in mine over about 30, but not sustainable for 440 miles, and I was at a lower average speed.
I find they can be reasonably economical if driven in the right (read: boring) way.
Aside: bloomin' good mileage in your Spyder, well done that man.

In 4 years my Cayman R has averaged about 20 mpg. 35 was the peak when I did the motorway trip home after collecting it. No idea what the lowest has been. Low, I suspect. Still it feels like an eco car after my old Litchfield Impreza. It was regularly comfortably under 10mpg. A tank of V-Power in 140 miles was fun but a bit expensive.
