PDK Move lever to 'P' message?

I Started my car this morning and put it in 'R', immediately a message came up telling me to put the car in 'P'.

I shifted from 'P' to 'R' a couple of times but the message kept appearing along with a warning noise. There was no red exclamation so I carried on and reversed off the drive.

As the window frame was a bit frozen the door wasn't properly closed so I also had a 'Door open' message.

Switched car off and on and the message doesn't appear anymore, driving was fine.

Could this be related to the door being open or do I have a gearbox issue?

I guess I should putting the car in 'D' with the door open and see what happens.

Seems strange though.

My Cayenne wont let me reverse with the door ajar as it sticks the hand brake on, annoying when trying to finely position a trailer, I blame the nanny safety culture where we all have to be saved from ourselves.
However you could also have driven home in the slush and snow last night and had everything freeze solid this morning.

I know it aint porsche but my audi windows would freeze shut and i cuoldnt put it in reverse

Absolutely relates to the door not being fully closed
