Well I purchased my Porsche Cayman S 987.1 last weekend after a months of looking and as soon as I saw it I knew she was the right one for me. She's a four owner, 2007 with 81,000 miles on her and absolutely fastidiously maintained.
I have a lot of plans in the pipeline and I'm already collecting parts to lavish on her.
Anyway, I'll let the pictures do the talking. This is how she looked upon purchase...

So I removed the side Porsche decals over the weekend which in my mind makes it look much more sleek.
I've also collated new side indicator lenses with chrome bulbs and upgraded Nighteye LED bulbs for the headlights, sidelights and foglights which I'll be fitting this weekend.
I think I'm going to look into coilovers next as the ride is VERY crashy (No PASM + 19's). Potentially BC Racing as they are have ride height, damping and camber adjustment.

I have had the BC Racing coilovers for nearly a year now on my Box 987.1. No doubt some truth in you get what you pay for, but these are not just good value but also good fullstop. Doesn't hugely change the character, but does dial out roll and add body control. Plus obv lowers ride height. I am still running a a very road bias set up with dampers at the soft end of the range, so the character is still very OE in so far as suppleness is maintained and rough road pace is just as good without being shaken too badly or bounced over the road. You also get a nice 911-ish bobble to the nose that is not there as std.
You need adjustable rear toe control arms once lower for proper alignment. This lets me have fairly OE alignment but with 2+ degrees neg camber at both ends at a sensible ride height. The std BC springs are fine being similar stiffness to KW, but not quite as stiff in the rear. They move balance a little to oversteer - not as much as KW, but more than Bilstein coilovers.

Given the price of 987s its hard to justify spending more. I have also done a few other mods to my 987 - 18 inch pro-race wheels, Bucket seats, deep sump, underdrive pulley, exhaust. Its a blast for road trips and still great for everyday.

The car is in with Dave at DSD Motorwerks who are very highly regarded, because I have a few little issues (which are costing an absolute fortune to rectify) but he's told me that my 2007 Gen 1 has the DFI engine in it which I'm happily surprised about!

So the original owner blew the original engine and swapped with a gen2 DFI? I've heard that it has been done in the states before, but super-intensive job. Would be interesting to see the details of the story?I didn't think the DFI came into fruition until 2009?
