Hi I've a 718 cayman ,living in Suffolk and it's due it's 2 year service shortly ...at least 600 quid for an oil change basically and maybe get brake fluid changed for that as well.Does anyone know of a Porsche indie near Ipswich who could stamp it and carry out the service please. The cost should be 200-300 and I just don't understand why Porsche charge double...I'm not convinced my local OPC will even bother doing what they are supposed to do quite frankly ....all these checks ...can't see it being done...Car hardly used which means it's even easier for them to do nothing for 600-800 quid !
Thanks

They charge double because it's a Porsche and an OPC costs lots of money to run.

Under the 3 year initial warranty period I'd think twice about using an indie, even though legally you can of course. You're opening yourself up to potential issues in the event of a warranty claim, getting screwed over on trade-in and you'll probably lose any goodwill that you might expect from the OPC in the future.

Thank you ...Still think it's outrageous...just don't think they bother with the checks especially if the car has hardly done any miles.Wouldnt be surprised if they didn't change the oil.I sound bitter..yes ...dreadful experience buying the car..two OPC just told me nonsense and it took over a year to get it ....and I got done over for the new road tax as was mislead .

Simple fix - use another OPC. I have two near me, one I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

When you buy an expensive car from a big, shiny showroom you can't really expect them to service it for £250 under the railway arches. Mind you, I wonder if the guy under the railway arches bothers to do the checks or change the oil? Quick wipe round the old oil filter canister - job's a good 'un....

I just had the brake fluid changed on my Cayenne S Diesel at my OPC...they charged me £85 which I thought was a really good/fair price.

I bought my Cayman from OPC in Cambridge. I have had good service from them.
Before the Cayman I had a 987 Boxster which they serviced several times. I was happy with what they did - but fairly standard pricing ....

Isn't there one Cambridge/Ipswich way?
You wouldn't want to use Hatfield anyway, as they charge on the highest scale. They fitted a sports exhaust for me recently at a very good price, but wouldn't budge on the service costs so I went to East London and saved £200.

Silvertsone....so not local and you spend more in fuel than you'd save. They've had big staff changes in their service department, I don't think any of them have been here for more than six months including the guy that has just been hired to run it. Current team seem excellent though.

I'm not local to you so my OPCs aren't relevant smile

+2 for Cambridge. I’m in Suffolk and it’s worth the drive.

Been asking a few local OPC for service price breakdown for my 981 Cayman S which is due in June.

So far Cambridge have come back the cheapest, Silverstone my local one is almost double.

Portsmouth pretty good. Reading are just do you want to use us or not .They couldnt care and all on their terms and charge £180 an hour plus vat.
Could always ask to supply own oil?
Brings the cost down. The 2 year is a minor service so kick the tyres and change the oil and filter.

Colchester Porsche look after my 981 CS... Never had any problems with them. They accepted me providing my own oil. No complaints.
