Just received a Warning sign on my 718 GTS ...... ! PADM Disabled . Service Check . Driving allowed .

Only used ' Sport Mode ' for 20 mins today .

Is this usual after only 3K mileage ?? Do I have it attended to A.S.A.P or wait until it's First year's Service visit ?

Advice please .

What’s PADM. So many acronyms can’t keep up.

Message isn’t confidence inspiring.

This was a common fault on the 981 as well and mine went in a couple of times to resolve under warranty. Seems like they never figured out a long term solution.

Sensors and software from what I recall. The sensors need replacing. There should be a thread about it on here somewhere.

I rang my OPC today and got the car booked in for Friday . My Salesman ( sorry Salesperson ) did not know what PADM was and had ever heard of any failures . However the Service Dept was more forthcoming .... Probably a Sensor problem but if new Sensors / Mounts are required then it will take a few days to get the part/s and fit ...... all under Warranty . They were surprised I got a ' Disabled ' notice after only 3K mileage under a year from new .

Did not offer me a Courtesy Car as none are available but suggested that if I had rung Porsche Assist at the Roadside they would have collected the car on a Loader and then I would have qualified for a courtesy car ............ Strange economics from Porsche .

I will keep the Forum posted after the fix .

I'll bet it isn't...

It was amazing how many OPCs had never seen an IMS fail on a 996 a few years back. It must just have been one of those things that didn't happen up north.

That should include 981,s as well. A fair few of them have failed. Seems a high rate of failure with them on whatever they are fitted on.

I've called Porsche Assist a couple of times when I've had an "amber" warning and had the car picked up from home and a hire car delivered FoC shortly afterwards. Always worth doing if you've got PA.
