PADM disabled - again!

Having only just shelled-out around £1400 for a replacement dynamic transmission mount in March this year, once again I have the "PADM disabled - service required" warning coming up.

The car is a 2014 981 Cayman GTS, 35,000 miles.

Is this a design fault?

Did you only have one side replaced last time? If so, chances are it's the other side that's gone.

Seems to be a design fault. I had one of mine replaced in April at £1200 at Northway. 2013 @51k.

Er, yes just the faulty one was replaced, in March.

edit - any goodwill from Porsche, Adam?

Sounds like a dodgy batch of parts. If one of mine ever goes I'll get them both changed at the same time I think!

It wouldn’t really save you much money. The part price is around £1000 with 4 hrs labour, having both done at once might save you an hour(or maybe 2) but you would be replacing a £1000 part that may never fail.

I’ve had both mine replaced (12 months apart) on around 12k and 18k Miles. The technician I spoke to claimed there were a few bad batches of parts but they hadn’t see any failures on the replacement parts they have fitted, he also implied the design may have changed slightly for the replacements (no idea if this is true or not)

Ive read of a failure on a 718 already though

Unfortunately not. I tried and failed!

I managed to get them to go halves on the exhaust bolts which had corroded after 2.5 years but no luck this time.
