My Cayman 981 is still under OPC warranty....

It has a suspension noise on the front, sure its offside that you can hear over small undulations, cats eyes and cobbles.

Its been back to Porsche who say they cant find anything, but the noise although infrequent is really noisy once its gets going.

Anyone else had similar?

Note, its going back in again next month but im not holding my breath. My experience with Porsche dealerships is poor and getting worse as time goes on.

Did they drive the car with you so you could help them to recreate the problem.
I guess not, as most Porsche garages are impossible to speak to anyone without booking it in?
Are you sure there is nothing loose in the front box. Check the tool boxes it could just be something silly causing the problem which they could not find.
I assume they checked the front suspension properly.
Remove the cover over the battery and just check all the pipe work and anything else that could be loose.
I'm afraid this is all you have left really, so good luck with that.
Let us know if you do get a result of the problem, as it may help others.
Cheers
Gadgit.

Perhaps its the top mounts beginning to perish, a little silicone grease around the top of the mount may lengthen their lifespan?

As it gets worse, and they become looser in their housing you will feel the steering become a little notchy.

If its a noise only defect the warranty won't cover it, but if it has a detrimental effect on the steering (like my 987's did) then they should cover it.

Cheers chaps...

Yes,they did go out with me and i replicated the fault, basically if you go over a cats eye it will make the noise.
They did say on a previous visit they they had put "special grease" on the top mounts, this didnt make any difference.

I think its possibly an anti roll bar link or bush, poor form at 35k if so.

Will see how i go next month.... smile
