Hello, I have been looking at GT4s recently and spotted this one.

It's quite a distance away and not at a Porsche dealership so trying to get as much info as possible

https://www.jonsealsportscars.com/car/gt4/

I thought I'd ask if anyone knew it?

It has a suspension upgrades, will this have an issue with warranty?

Can I find a history of warranty claims on it?

Higher miles than many others, any issues with that?

Is there anything I should do, can I check for over revs and issues for the warranty not to pay out fairly easily?

Any help or comments appreciated

Thanks

It's still for sale. I think it's a sale or return. It's definitely available.

If you want peace of mind - as a condition of the purchase - I would have a 111 check done at Porsche and then, if it passes that get a Porsche Warranty.
You'll have to pay for the 111 check obviously.

Thanks for the response, there is warranty till end of next year. Is this linked to car, or to the purchaser, I am assuming this was an extended one if it's to 2020.

Does a service include this check? Or is the check on top the service.

The suspension upgrades will mean no extended warranty as even though Manthey is majority owned by Porsche. I asked this very question and was told only factory build options and Tequipment options are considered standard parts. All other options or upgrades are considered non-standard and make the vehicle ineligible for extended warranty.

It sounds like SOR then. The OPC warranty is transferable from private buyer to private seller. That said 1yr warranty is £660 on these.

Does PASm still work with the suspension upgrade? Looks like 'modest track use' is a rather conservative estimate. I want reassurance the clutch is good (not too heavy) and the rev range report is good.

I have just sold a car on broker basis. I benchmarked 3 well known and favourably commented upon (various forums etc + financials) dealers. Two would buy car from me then pass title to buyer, one would have buyer pay me then I pay broker under private sale contract. Latter would not break factory warranty ownership chain, the former two would. (not sure about extended warranty transfer as I haven't had one of those)

I know Jon personally and he’s a good guy. He’s mostly worked on and sold Lotus cars for a while with consistently good feedback so I wouldn’t worry about buying from him.

Don't worry, I have been speaking to Jon quite a bit about it.
He has a good reputation from the Lotus side (where I currently am)

Just trying to do some extra research, you never know what you can find out on these forums, it wouldn't be the first time a car is clear on hpi, but someone has a picture of it from a large accident it had some time back.

As it turns out the car was available at the start of the week, but from discussions over the last day or 2, its now off the market.
