Collecting brand new 718C (2.0 base) very soon and LV insurance wants to know if has a tracker.

Am I correct in my assumption that PVTS (with the plastic tags) is standard fit and active for 2 years from date of collection?

Or do I need to pay for this separately?

You will need to pay for it seperately, around £219 a year i think.

I asked the same question at my PC, the subscription for the monitoring service is not included and needs to be paid for separately.

I can't remember the exact cost, £220 (ish) plus VAT

LV insurance have confirmed premium is the same regardless of having an operational PVTS or not. In which case I shall not bother. If it gets nicked I’d rather not have it back!

Surely you didnt expect something included for free with Porsche smile
They only give you 1 year Porsche connect for the car remote services . Have to pay for it after that . Every other manufacturer gives you 3

Porsche Connect is a waste of time and certainly not worth paying for. I didn't renew after 12 months. I still have the Tracker though but one of my fobs isn't working and I've already replaced one and it cost me £160 or something for about £4 worth of electronics. Rip off doesn't cover it!!

Totally understand the point, particularly with a good Gap policy, but the thought of some scrote driving around in my property would lead me to pay the subscription anyway whether insurance required or not, in a probably £expensive, misguided attempt to fight back.

But then, unlike most of the pussies on here I’d never leave my car keys by the front door with a note saying “please take the car, just don’t hurt me on the way out”, instead they’d have to be prising the keys out of my cold dead hands. This appears to be a minority opinion though.
