For those who don’t have the time to watch the video...

- they plan on transforming the car as close as possible to the original 50’s 718
- they specced the car to be as plain (aesthetically) as possible, to keep it traditional
- callipers are PCCB albeit black (“some loophole on the configurator”)
- they plan on reupholstering the seats in old weathered brown leather
- decals to be added similar to the old 718
- exhausts to be changed for a more raw sound

If you want to reupholster the seats and are going retro then why on earth would you not go for the folding buckets...they’re the closest in form surely ? They’d look the most retro if done really, really well. With the standard seats that’ll look ste I reckon.

He states two inaccuracies, which as an owner of a special car like this you would and should know:

“Essentially the GT3 engine in this car and incredibly close (gear)ratioed”.

I think he meant the gearbox gate is tight together rather than the actual ratios.
Agreed the stuff about the engine being similar to the GT3 is stretching things..

Loophole in the configurator... tick the box marked ‘PCCB in black’. Wow.

I don’t really like their stuff. The speccing video was painful for the fact the two Porsche salesmen came across as clueless. Why you’d seek their advice instead of just looking at the configurator and sorting your own spec out I don’t know.

Spec the classic interior, put the numbers on and you’ve basically achieved what they want to do there or thereabouts.

Agree - I will stick with Steve Sutcliffe, Catchpole, Chris Harris, and a few others. But it does demonstrate about the power of YouTube. That is probably why they got a car. Not real patrol heads - I mean pistonheads 😆

The pick up video came up on my feed the other day. I hadn’t seen their videos so gave it a watch but it was painfully boring and they reminded me of Smashy and Nicey. The omission of heated seats in an open top car wasn’t a schoolboy error, it was pure fkwittery.

They got a Spyder because they've bought a number of cars from that OPC. The most underrated You Tuber has to be Janko Lind's channel. The quality/passion vs views/subscribers doesn't equate IMHO.

One rich guy on skint guy, neither can drive, but the rich chap has a TDF and a load of other stuff. Inc in the past an F40.

But the guys are clueless.

MrJWW for me his classic iconic car series was amazing.
