As the title says in some adverts you get the S/S in brackets as below, what does that mean please.

Strange thing to put in an ad - is it a lower VED group than the pre S/S cars?

I thought short shift initially.

I very much doubt anybody puts it in an ad themselves. But when you supply the reg, the default vehicle description from whatever database is used will often include the fact it is 'stop / start'.

It gets the overall emissions of some vehicles down, even though you can usually turn it off anyway.rolleyes

And stop/start also gives you coasting mode on a PDK 981 for extra economy. S/S can be turned off using a dedicated button or by switching into Sport or Sport Plus (optional).
