Anyone tried the revo remaps, looks like the obd port is used and has a few different maps that the dealer can tailor such as standard, sport etc...

I know it only adds about 10bhp but I understand it revs faster etc.

I would combine it with sports headers with 200 cell cats and it gets rid of the check lights triggered on the o2 sensors as they wear or the standard cats wear.

They can do away with the first 2 cats and keep the last 2 and still pass mot.

Seriously doubt a remap alone will get you any real gains. More likely the car will drive differently making it feel like you have more performance by virtue of it being different. But more likely you’ll actually lose performance.

Cayman/Boxster really wake up with sport Headers and then a live remap to optimise the breathing for the new hardware. Nice intake filter… BMC or similar and that’s about it.
I’d put your money towards that IMO.
Hope to be able offer some more proof points in the not too distant future.

Who would live map it?

My normal mapper can only do the 3.4 onwards.

Thank you

Blackpool is a long way from Guildford but I know they know their stuff.

How did you find it, any results?

I'm down the road from Guildford. Car drove great. A small ish overall increase on the Dyno but this was after some intake and exhaust mods.

Thanks, did you just drive up, stay a night and return? That would be my plan.

I am probably going for new sport headers with 200 cell race cats and then the full system with switched valves that does away with the second cats and remains MOT friendly. Then map it.

I am not expecting much gain but as one of my o2 sensors is throwing faults every now and then and I believe this MAY be due to an ageing cat it makes sense to update and I always run on super unleaded so could also take advantage of that in the map?

Is /Was yours a 280 bhp model 987 s?

This larger inlet and throttle body by Design 911 claims 20 bhp increase, the exhaust co claims around 10bhp and a remap is supposed to give around 10 but I wonder if they are all the "same" 10+ bhp to be gained or if you really can get 30- 40 bhp more?

knocking on the door of 320 bhp would be ineresting. 12% increase!

What car?

I have Stage 2 (not REVO) on my 981 3.4 S, Because the S has the same engine as GTS you have the extra power from GTS available straight away the Stage 2 file then adds more on top of that. Car is massively different (combined with race headers)

Stayed the night before at a friend's place in Preston. Mine was a 986S. Mods were 74mm throttle body, manifolds, exhaust.

Save yourself a wedge and go on Planet9 or Boxa and you can use an OE plenum with the 74mm TB.

Won't using a 74 tb with the standard plenum restrict things a little though?

987.1 3.4 = max 350 I got 345 and had every thing.
987.2 3.4 = max 360 I have 350 and did not go plemium and TB as was told the oem flows enough air. but it seems a full system will get you to 360
981 3.4 = max 380 !! yep a lot more available from the 981
981 3.8 = max 435

the thing with remaps only is not as bad as you think because POrsche make maps to fool co figures so you get really bad dead spots
while a remap won't net you much alone it does make the car nicer to drive.

The 74mm won't fit on the 987 3.2 plenum. Hence the need for a bigger OE plenum that will take the larger diameter. The 3.2 uses a 68mm TB.

You can go from 68mm to 82mm if you really want but the unwritten rule of thumb is if you have the 68 go to 74 and if you have the 74 go to 82.

These are now new mods. Have a look on the forums I suggested as there are multiple people there compare to here that have done it.
