Hello to you all

Apologies, I'm a long time lurker, but first time poster.

I've owned a number of "old" watercooled front engined Porkas in my time (924, 944 & 928's) but never something more modern. With age marching on, and life in a position whereby I can finally realise an ambition, I've been snouting around the classifieds and found something I really like the look of.

Its a Gen 2 1.9 with PDK (which, although not to everyone's tastes, is something I really want) for what seems reasonable money. It's up for 17k. The car does have 81k miles, but all the photos (yes I know they always look glamorous!) show it looking very tidy. FSH, Last 3 at specialists (with the last being in Oct 19 @ 79k, all prior are OPC).

Is there anything glaringly obvious I should enquire about? Something I am aware of is the need for the PDK clutch oil to be changed at 60k 6 years, so will enquire about that.

The other thing is the car is located some 380 miles from me, so I would consider an independent inspection before travelling all that way. Does anyone know of someone suitable experienced / qualified to do this sort of thing in the Glasgow area?

Any advice and tips gratefully received

Is it a Boxster or a Cayman? My uncle has recently purchased a 987 Gen 2 2.9 PDK Boxster for 18.5k with FPSH and only 35k miles... just something to consider in terms of pricing (although to be honest I'm not that up on Boxster pricing).

Good luck - they are awesome cars

Sorry Lenny & all, I didn't make that clear. It's a Cayman.

Speak to Kenny Dunn in Edinburgh: https://www.kennydunn.co.uk/used-cars/porsche

He's been in the business forever and is bound to know someone who can inspect it up there.
