Recently got the car and very pleased. Would loved that it had PSE however retro fit is exspensive frown

I spoke my local exhaust place, AAS Exhaust Newcastle, who said they don’t mod exhausts however mentioned that he been selling bits to a local guy who was modding the std exhaust. Think the guys name was Dave. If you see this Dave please chirp in

I like the idea of of having the exhaust switchable so wondering what me options are

The PSE is pointless, valves open on startup then close as you move off, open again at 3-4k revs regardless if you have the button turned on or off.Save your money and go for a bypass.

Carnewal gt exhaust works well on 981 2.7, I went to Belgium and had mine done. It is like a switchable exhaust using the sport button as it gives it pops and bangs with that on like pse.

Change the rear muffler or side ones, must be mods available for your exhaust.

I have a 2.7 Cayman with the sports tailpipes. When I look on the Tequipment page on the my Porsche website it shows as it been cheaper to install. So do they use the existing sports tailpipes?

It has £2,528 vrs £2,118 for vechiles with sports tailpipes.

I notice a huge difference between PSE switched on vs. off, regardless of how quickly you are going.

With PSE on its louder, throatier and lots more pops and bangs.

No doubt you will be turbocharged then to get the pops and bangs, its useless on N/A engine

I've a 981 GTS which is the 3.4 n/a engine. PSE makes a huge and immediate difference the second you press the switch.

Mine does when you press the switch, but then when you pull away, the valves close and won't open again until 3-4k revs. Is yours not the same?

Try turning the button off and on when you are only doing 40mph, to see if you hear a sound difference.

there's definitely a difference when you switch PSE on, no matter the revs.

tbh i rarely activate PSE these days. prefer the more natural sound with it off.

In mine it's noticeably immediately on pressing the switch and remains that way whatever the revs/gear. Same when turning on and off at a constant speed. As posted above I know whether it's on or not just from the noise.
