Hi all,

987 CS

I took my drivers’ seat out on Sunday which necessitated disconnecting the battery. All went well reinstalling with no errors etc until I clicked it in to reverse and noticed the sensor ‘pings’ were absent.

Google doesn’t seem to help, does anyone know if there is anything I can do to reset this or do I need my indy’s PIWIS?

Cheers

I've not heard of this affecting parking sensors before, but my heated seats have gone a couple of times when I have disconnected the battery. The only other option I had heard was affected was headlamp washers.

It's normally PIWIS/Handover to sort this out if it is the same problem I had.

Thanks for your answer, I thought as much. Why are are VAG electrics so temperamental!

It’s a software cock-up, at least in the case of the heated seats. When the car resets, it ‘forgets’ what options it has fitted.

Pretty convenient when the OPC now tries to charge an hour of labour to reset - if I’d had it done there each time it would have now cost more than the heated seats cost to specify as an option in the first place.
