Unusual noise

Hi we have 2001 Porsche 986 and when you turn the engine off there is what can only be described as a gulping sound...any ideas ??

Try asking on the Cayman/Boxster Porsche forum - it's more car-specific (but there is less traffic).

My guess would be a breather pipe in the fuel tank is blocked and it's the fuel glugging slightly as air is drawn in elsewhere. But I could be very very wrong.

Air in the air conditioning system ? My slk used to make very odd glugging and whooshing sounds

Hi it sounds like u may have an air lock.

Have u had to put any coolant in recently.

Golf used to this, take the fuel cap off and it stopped.
