Had the car nearly two months and been fine. Nothing been done since buying but now it stated saying I have too much oil

Have the Porsche pixies been adding oil when I am not looking?

Any suggestions as to why this is happening

How's the coolant level? It could be a head gasket failure causing coolant to 'top-up' the oil.

Are you parking on a slope?

I don't know where the oil level sensor is installed but parking at certain angles can easily distort the level readings. Make sure the car is on a dead flat surface. You could test the situation by deliberately parking on slight slopes.

Beyond that it could be rising due to fuel and/or condensation getting into the oil. What use does the car get? It does them good to have a proper hot run from time to time of at least half an hour at speed to evaporate off fuel and water.

Don't start worrying about head gaskets. Even gunk in the filler cap is usually only a sign of a bit of water condensation and, as such, pretty normal.

Is it the gauge that's telling you or are you getting a specific message on the dash?

If the gauge, what's the reading... right to the top?

Update

I was getting a message and the gauge was showing full.

I have drained about half a pint off and the gauge is now showing one segment lower plus the message had now gone

If you are capable of draining it as the above suggests you are I’d have the lot out. See if it looks contaminated or not and refill with the correct amount of new oil, assuming you have some.
