I have recently bought a 2000 3.2S (Finnish built) with approx 57K miles - it has been well maintained throughout its life and currently has no issues, also Porsche GB have confirmed it has a a double row IMS bearing and there are currently no oil leaks
I am led to believe that the normal clutch life is around 50K miles for a car that is driven in average conditions, e.g no track days, not very much urban use, experienced driver etc?

I’m a bit reluctant to get mine changed prematurely if its not really necessary but when I do the IMS and RMS will also be done, though I understand that the double row IMS are much less prone to failure than the single row version?

Has anyone managed high mileages on their clutches and if so how many miles?

Thanks for any advice

it'll last forever (over 100k) but will get heavier and heavier and heavier

if your in there I would change it, if not I wouldn't bother for the sake of it at 57k

Similar to above, I had a 58k 2000 S in 2012. Heavy clutch and indy advised to change it. I didn't but got a 2004 550 2 years later with 105k. Clutch a bit lighter but changed and then much lighter. Neither slipped though.

My 2000MY 3.2S just clocked 100k when I sold it with a heavy clutch (assumed this was normal) buyer messaged me a month later saying it started slipping and £750 later he had a new clutch fitted..

My 2000 3.2S was built in Stuttgart and has had a heavy (original) clutch since I bought it 6 years ago. It has done 74000 miles now and has no slipping. Pretty sure the chap I bought it from thought that it was on its way out and this was reflected in the sale price!
