So I have had my Cayman five weeks and I am absolutely loving it. Not detracting from the car one bit but how long do you have to wait until Porsche GB contact you regarding your half day PEC course. Also, I am still waiting for an email to set up the free one year Porsche Connect app despite chasing my OPC.

Used to be that you got the PEC day before taking delivery of the car, in most cases. I guess there is just a large COVID backlog considering the centres been shutdown for a while.

How strange! I took delivery of my 992 TurboS over 6 weeks ago and had not heard from the experience centre!

Today i called them and they advised that i was on their system and would i like to book for this week! usually its a couple of weeks before you can get a slot!

There must be admin issues as pre lock-down they were really good with comms

...but be aware currently that you don't have an instructor in the car with you. For various reasons I've not yet used mine from earlier in the year, but I'm happy to wait until such time as instructor can be in same car, as I feel that would give maximum benefit. YMMV.

As far as I’m aware there is a massive backlog. Covid is also affecting class size etc.

Or, you could just turn the walkie talkie off and head over to the low friction circuit.... scratchchin

I did my day just after it reopened. As said, you follow an instructor in another car, which in some ways gives you a bit more freedom, but for sure less hands on instruction style.

As it happened I had the place to myself the morning I went so no complaints about the experience overall!

I was actually at the PEC today doing a Precision Day which was originally booked for March. I wouldn’t have booked it given the Covid restrictions but it was actually excellent. Caveat I already knew the instructor and have had tuition from him already but it was really good. He had a manual 991.2 GT3 like mine...there were only six cars at the facilities all day and when we went onto the main Silverstone circuit there were only three cars....so a massive benefit in terms of track and facility time.

Not sure how good it would be for learning about a new car and if you didn’t know the facilities but for me playing follow the leader in an identical car stopping every 15 mins or so for a debrief was brilliant. When doing things like the ice hill the instructor is out of his car observing and giving feedback on via walkie talkie.

Would definitely recommend if in doubt.
