Porsche Boxster Battery Hooked Up Wrongly
Discussion
Family member reported today dead car battery, battery replaced just before lockdown, so put the flat battery down to just car sat idled. Arrived with my own car developing a flat tyre, due to picking up piece of scrap metal puncturing the tyre.
Decided on calling breakdown services, who first dealt with changing the punctured tyre, then jumped started the Porsche, via the red fuse. Let the Porsche run for ten minutes or more, then opened the bonnet, only to find the car's "new" battery had been hooked up wrongly, negative lead to battery's positive terminal.
Does the Porsche electrics have a fuse that prevents damage to the car's electrics, if so where is the fuse located, and if not, what damage is likely to have been done to the car's electrics.

sadly with reverse polarity you will have done some pretty bad damage to the car from that. need to put in new battery rightway round and then have a look at whats working or not. some equipment may have diodes to prevent damage from events like this but be prepared for the fall out on this.Decided on calling breakdown services, who first dealt with changing the punctured tyre, then jumped started the Porsche, via the red fuse.
