What do you think the best starting spec is for a 2.5T track car? Want it to lap as fast as possible but still be a usable road car for approx 4K miles a year. Should I just buy the cheapest PDK car I can find or is it worth stumping up for a higher spec? What options should I look for? Ta.

GTS will have the most power as standard.... 365
S has 350.
As you say probably buy the cheapest PDK you can, as you’ll probably end needing to spend on track prep anyway.

For track probably do not be tempted by power upgrades, at least to start with. Rather start with suspension and braking. The cars struggle with heat management on track so remapping is only going to make that worse and the ECU will start to de-rate.

There is a pretty good thread on RL by Seb Vittel on his 718 GTS 2.5T (also has GT2 RS MR for the ring). It’s running Manthey Racing package and he has been going around attempting to set 4-cylinder track records.

Thanks for that, was a useful thread on Rennlist. Not very familiar with Porsche options, what should I look for? Do PTV and PASM help handling or save any lap time? Is the Cayman the same weight as the Boxster?
