It's my first post on here so hello to everyone.

It's been a month since I ordered my 718 GT4 PDK. It's my first Porsche and I'm coming from a tastefully modified BMW M4 Competition Pack DCT.

The spec I've gone for is:

Gentian Blue Metallic
Black leather interior
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) gearbox
Chrono Package and preparation for lap trigger
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB)
20-inch 718 Cayman GT4 wheels in satin platinum
Tyre sealing compound and electric air compressor
Electrically folding exterior mirrors including courtesy lighting
Full bucket seats
Smoking package
Silver grey seat belts
Steering column casing in leather
BOSE® Surround Sound System

I didn't go too crazy on the spec. I suppose the carbon brakes were my guilty pleasure - they just look so darn good!

I had to sign the import duty letter. I have made it clear that I won't be paying the import duty should there be any of significance and at which point I would cancel the order (so long as the order is not in lockdown) and get my deposit back. I just can't bare the thought of possibly paying an extra £9000 in duty!

Just the waiting game now. The dealer is estimating April time. Fingers crossed for this bloody import duty threat to go away.

Congratulations on your allocation but good luck getting the car locked for build after Dec 31st it will be earlier than that especially if you ordered a month back.

I spoke to the dealer today and they said that they haven't been given their next allocation yet. Apparently I'm number two on the list so I'm assuming I'll be part of the next allocation they get. Hopefully they reach a Brexit trade deal and there is no import duty or say just a couple of percent. As mentioned It's my first Porsche so I'm not really up to speed on the ordering timelines. Thanks for the info though.

Congratulations on your slot, if I can be so bold as to make a comment about your spec? Two things which are really useful and in my opinion quite important down the line for resale are Cruise and Parking sensors - neither are expensive and a heck of a lot
More useful than say a leather steering column wink

so you have not ordered one yet, thought as much ;-), hope you get the allocation once released to the OPC's.
I am awaiting the next round of allocations before I choose what to go for. 4.0 GTS though I think for me.

as for the part, it gives a crazy reflection in the dash if you spec it, very unpleasant.

Id of gone for the * Dashboard trim package in leather as well for 700ish quid to match your steering column as well.

Yes, I see what you mean about the reflection. I'll be removing that - thanks for the heads up. You say that I have not ordered one yet and yet I have have a signed new car order form from dealer????

I get what you say about the resale value but I never use them (cruise and parking sensors) on my M4 and if I don't keep this car then I'm going to find myself single again!!

Think I'm going to lose the leather steering column though.

Congrats on the allocation, had your name down long?

I'd add the cruise and parking sensors personally, cruise is great on the motorways with all the average cameras, and there is a wing blocking your rear view smile

Congratulations, Gentian is a great colour but be warned it does mark very easily. I'd definitely consider PPF or decent detailing prior to or as close to as collection.

My CGTS is same colour and depending on the light it changes quite significantly.

Worth mentioning on top of what 911R has already rightly said is I would advise not to go for the extended leather dash option at c £1000 as it includes stitching on the dash around chrono clock and at the base of the windscreen too which causes reflections .

You may not have specced this and just to be clear it is in addition to the standard extended leather which gives you edge dashboard and door top stitching which really is enough in terms of spec on a GT4.

Whether you can see steering column stitching reflections are set up specific - column height, column extension, seat height, seat distance from the wheel, your height etc.

I have the leather steering column and I can't see any reflections when sat in the car.

Congrats. I don't mind about the cruise control but would recommend reverse aids, the car will feel different from M4 especially when backwards. If you only park at farm lands then don't worry about it.

Your salesman should have an estimate freeze date and you can add another month for it to exit factory and maybe 3 weeks for UK customs clearance. That's assuming all goes to plan which you can only wish. Mine is expected around year end which is an irritating feeling.

Looks like a great spec to me.

Defo need reversing aids. Cruise. Speed limit display.

I have leather steering column on my car and no reflections. I think it looks great with it but would spec the above before it.

I haven’t had any issues with my steering column in leather. 911R’s picture is of a Spyder with the roof down, so not a fair reflection of what it would be like in a GT4

When I heard that there was going to be more availability for this GT4 than the last generation I just popped into my local Porsche dealer (Leicester), specced the car, signed the order form, paid the £5000 deposit and was told to expect my car around April time next year.
