They do look quite a pain to fit in the Cayman, probably much easier in a Spyder where you’re not getting stuck on the roof/cage. Can you go in from underneath?
I’ll just disconnect the vacuum hoses I think.
I'd get a mechanic to fit it. Would be nice to go normal mode for cruising etc.I’ll just disconnect the vacuum hoses I think.

Very good. Like having a new exhaust. Good thing is you can switch to normal mode for quiet cruising.Sport button gives you a few pops and a growl through the rev range...
People do talk about pulling the vacuum pipes also, but good to retain switch-ability for this IMO.

I think they're a decent option if you're keeping the standard exhaust. Not needed if you replace the silencer IMHO.
Replaced silencer will still face the same issue of valves closing through the rev range, granted the sound will be better than stock.I may still change the exhaust, but not sure which part of the system to change next, low cell opf pipe, headers or backbox?

The valves just push the exhaust gases towards the silenced part of the system, which on a sport system doesn't make that much difference due to the reduced silencing in place. Hence my comment above
At 5k revs on a motorway you might want to still close the flaps to stop the boom.

Suppose it depends on the exhaust, but most of vids I've seen, you can hear the valves in the rev range.

With the stock controls they'll be shut anyway if the exhaust button is off? Or am I missing something?
They open under pressure or above 4K ish hence why the button is handy. My GT3 at say 85mph opens the flaps and is annoying, I keep meaning to buy the switch, but I don’t use my car much.Forcing them shut might not be a good thing oem but on after market free flow exhaust should not be an issue at 80mph odd to keep the gases diverted though the silencers to keep the boom down.

My understanding is that with Stock, PSE ON, valves Open at approx 4000rpm. With PSE OFF, valves still open, but at 5000rpm. What the Cargraphic Valve Controller offers is Valves always open, or Stock.
Thanks. Makes the valves button a bit less use than I thought it was if you're only getting the benefit at tickover and 3800-5000rpm.I believe there's also an option to have the valves closed all the time if you get the 3-way Cargraphic controller.

I believe the pressure build up of having them closed all the time can cause issues.
I press the button every time I get in the car, I might as well just disconnect the vacuum lines. Though the car graphic controller would give my homelink buttons a purpose as they’re not compatible with the garage door...
