Does anyone know of this car?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202011055...

Looks like a pretty amazing spec and don’t see many in Carmine, really suits it considering its not a colour I would have gone for. Been listed for a while now though and I thought it would have been snapped up

I don't follow 981 GTS prices but surely the 718 GTS 4.0 has hurt them.

You can order one for just north of £70k with buckets as long as you don't crazy with other options. That's pretty compelling given that engine is essentially a GT4 unit... warranty etc. compared to a 6yo 981 GTS which at the end of the day has the 3.4 and not the end of the NA era 4.0.

£50k starts to look pretty expensive for a 6yo car and must be giving lads food for thought...they find the extra cash or sign up to extra finance. Also, I've heard of 3.5% discount being offered on GTS 4.0...that pays for the GTS pack on the configurator..

981 GTS doesn't have the captive audience it did a year ago.

I know it’s the not the final swan song of the N/A Cayman so it’s lost a little bit in that regard, but I’d still say the 981 GTS is a desirable thing.

It’s £26k cheaper than the GTS 4.0 that I have specced. That is not an insignificant amount.

A 981 gts is extremely well sort after and still comands big money on the secondhand market .
As with all Porsches keeping the mileage very low is the key for retaining value? Around 4k miles or less i believe?
Yes the 718 4.0 is a better all round car apart from 1 thing . The 981 gts is considered one of the best cars have ever produced.

There seems to be a crazy price difference between the 981 S and 981 GTS too.

If you’re going to buy a Porsche and keep milage below 4k to retain value just buy a print and hang it on your wall and keep the cash in the back.

Buckets, PCCB, Carbon, manual, nice colour, great interior, pretty much perfect spec, lowish miles....

If you could get a couple of £k off, it would be a good buy IMO

I doubt you’ll find another like that for a while...

I would agree it wouldn’t be lowish miles once I’ve had it

That really is a Unicorn spec car....I remember the Sales Manager at my OPC telling me a car they had thus equipped was a better car than a GT4 (which he owned personally). Whether that’s true or not I have no idea but that’s a great spec car which will always fetch strong money relative to other cars. Carmine may not be everyone’s cup of tea but was launch colour for 991.1 GTS when it was first released....so is a “GTS colour”

I suspect the PCCBs, manual and buckets put off as many people as they attract.

I could easier justify the premium over my 981S which is higher spec than many GTSs, cosmetics aside. But the cost to change would buy a Caterham on top of my current car, which is in a different league for driving dynamics and engagement compared with the marginal improvement this would offer.

Yes, to be honest, the manual box is the biggest improvement this car would offer me compared with my PDK 981S. I'm truly staggered by how popular PDK has become, in what is supposed to be a sports car.

It's a pity the owner didn't go the full distance and order climate control and heated seats.

It just shows what happens when the marginal buyer's attention is drawn elsewhere.

Stuff suddenly stops fetching the big premiums and buyers/sellers can't understand why.

£50k buys alot of 6yo Porsche let alone when you start looking at other brands. This nearly buys you an AMG GTS or at least will next year I suspect.

Nope. It was a car they had previously had and didn’t have at the time. and I’ve never expressed an interesting in buying a Caymen...my wife has a Boxster and I have a 991.2 GT3 so have no need for one. It was just a general conversation and that was his observation. I would say it was an honest opinion not skewed because he thought I wanted to buy one/had one to sell !
