718S Sport Chrono retro fit
Discussion
Hi all
Am looking at second hand 718S's (although still toying with the idea of a GTS 4.0).
If I bought a preowned 718S without Sport Chrono do you know if it can be retro fitted? I don't need the dash timer, but do want the adjusted throttle and PDK maps. Suspect this question has been asked before, but used the site Search function and didn't get very far.
Thanks in advance for your help.

GTS is about £10k more, and within budget so I could go that route. My main dilemma is whether to go £40k (or below) for an S, which will be fun and half the price of a 4.0. Or just go all in on a 4.0 as I suspect it will be epic.
It'd be a second car, mainly used in the summer as I have my Macan for every day and long distance use, which I love, which is why spending £40k is probably a whole lot more prudent in terms of 'investment'.
Thanks both.

Going for a GTS sounds way more expensive than just having chrono fitted, so seems a contradictory reply. You don't get the clock, which isn't wanted anyway.
If you went for the gts 4.0 but i didn't say that. I mentioned the 2.5 gts .Youd pickup a 2 year 2.5 gts for over £20k cheaper than a gts 4.0.crystalmethod said:

With patience you would find one with everything ticked..Both cars are epic and cosmetic and chassis are the same Drive both you must decide if the the extras cylinders are worth £30k?It'd be a second car, mainly used in the summer as I have my Macan for every day and long distance use, which I love, which is why spending £40k is probably a whole lot more prudent in terms of 'investment'.
Thanks both.

Exactly the above decision.
£40k 718S vs £75k 4.0 GTS is what I'm reconciling, but only if the S has SC.
Or 2.5L GTS for c.£50k is an option, but my man maths will mean that as soon as I start looking above £50k I'll start rationalising buying the 4.0.

Friend dead set on getting a 911 Carrerra 4s . No test drive available so went out in a base carrera instead . Gave him everything he wanted for £25k cheaper.
So happy with it and doesnt want for more.
Drive both, flick the abacus from side to side and go from there.
