Would welcome recommendations for the servicing of my Boxster RS60 and possibly the IMS bearing. Looking for a smaller independent preferably as I want to to build a rapport and keep costs in check, appreciate everyone’s help

What do you want to do with the IMS bearing? Short of a visual check anything else is going to hand me your wallet time.

Paragon - Five Ashes

Octane (Lee is ex Paragon) - Crowborough

Precision - Sheffield Park (though I won't use them ever again)

Nine Excellence in Horley.
Used to have 996 and Cayenne and they looked after both for us.
Always a pleasure to deal with and never had an issue.

Thanks for the replies so far, much appreciated. The ims bearing weeps a very small amount, probably because I don't drive it enough (25k on clock) and has been like that for 4 years. Did use Addspeed 3 years ago.

A vote for Lee at Octane... pinned my coolant hoses on my GT3. Very happy.

We’re spoilt for choice in Sussex - Precision (Uckfield), Parr (Crawley), Paragon, 9e (Horley) to name a few.

Have used all the above except Paragon. I tend to use 9e and Parr most - both good and reasonably priced.

Out of all the above named Parr is the only one I would use, and they get all of my business, including working on my CGT. They are a family run who in 10 years of dealing with them, have always delivered for me and in some cases where the OPC let me down.

When living in the area I used Parr, as my office was on the same trading estate (Manor Royal in Crawley). I really liked the team that looked after me and I would say the standard of work to the car was always spot on. Really sharp comms and the car was covered by a third party warranty and they dealt with that whole thing for me (I know it's small, but still above and beyond).

I did use OPC Tonbridge and OPC Mid-Sussex too, the latter mostly through affiliation with the Porsche Club GB, and would rate the latter slightly ahead (just personal preference, the standard of work was identical). I also visited Precision and they knew their onions but the proximity to the office made me choose Parr and I'm glad I did.

Paragon are absolutely first class if you want an indi you can trust. I’m afraid my experience with Parr was precisely the opposite.

It's a strange world but my view of paragon is completely the opposite!

A service should be pretty consistent across the board, it’s the other preventative/necessary maintenance that seems to be less so. It should come down to cost and convenience for a service.

Garages have the unique ability to put the fear of god into us when it comes to stuff like this.
