Hi all,

Noticed that my car came with the passenger mat in the boot. I understand that's because it won't find under the extinguisher.
What do people do? Get someone to re-trim the mat?

Thanks all!

Wedge it in as-is or get a trimmer to cut it.

I started with the former and ended up moving to the latter smile

Thanks TF, you've been very helpful over the last 2 days! Much appreciated! Are there specific trimmers who do that? Or anyone who can work a sewing machine?

You just need to find a local trimmer. It's s very simple shape to cut out, my guy had some Alcantara that was a good match to re-trim the newly eexposed edge. The job doesn't even need to be that neat as it'll be hidden under extinguisher anyway smile

I recently had a 991.2 GT3 with club sport package and the fire extinguisher installed
The opc had cut out some of the passenger side over mat and fitted the mat under the fire extinguisher but the mat couldn’t be removed to vacumit so to speak

In the tequioment catalogue there is an overmat upgrade to a thicker carpet mat with a cutout for the fire extinguisher

Thanks for that. Checking the Tequipment page it seems there's this:

Part number: 991 044 801 83

Two-piece set, carpet in Black. With surround and inlay with embossed "PORSCHE" logo in smooth Black leather and double stitching in Black. including Recess for Clubsport package fire extinguisher.

It's a slightly different design to the standard mats, using leather edging not nubuck and the silver logo is now leather:

I can't believe I didn't check all the possible Tequipment variants - I assumed they were all the same!

Lesson learnt wink

It's PoA though, which is odd. They'll be some silly money like £300-400, I'll just use the trimmer instead.

I find it incredible that Porsche would sell an option (Clubsport in this case, with the fire extinguisher) but not supply the car with the appropriate trims.

I feel for the op as he was also unlucky with the rollcage supply and fitting, and a lot of us would still much rather be lucky enough to own a GT4.

Porsche aren't known for cost cutting, heck in my 997 I sometimes wonder how much it cost to design a pen holder and cd changer into the glovebox (both absolutely useless). Surely they could sell the car with the right parts?

This is one of my annoyances with the car. That and the fking homelink system being incompatible with my garage door. I sometimes like to think about them when I feel like getting wound up wobble

Not really criticisms though as I love my car!
