Just purchased Cayman 718 in Carmine red.
Live on Teesside and was looking at paint protection and or PPF.
Was looking at front end and side protection in particular.
Noticed the areas near the side intakes are already prone to marking.
Is this normal?
Any suggestions of suppliers locally?
1st time at looking at this treatment.
This has probably been covered loads already.
Looking for recommendations to make the car look great an protect it long term.

Cheers in advance

Is it used or new? Might take some work to get the paint back to condition if it's used. I don't have any local recommendations to you but I paid £1850 for full front and sides, for your reference, that was in Manchester.

I live in darlington so probably drive similar roads to you, I had a 16 plate 981 Boxster Black Edition and it was probably the worst car I've ever owned for stone chips, much worse than the Lotus Elise S3 I had before it. The Jet Black paint didn't help as it was so soft. The rear wheel arches and around the air intakes were the worst areas, though I did get a few on the bonnet too. I understand a lot of Porsches have front end resprays before they're sold on in the OPC network.

The car wasn't a daily so suffered mostly from the loose chippings the bloody lazy councils use around here as excuses to resurface a number of my favourite B roads.

Sills, air intakes and rear valance behind the wheels take the most punishment.

Given the cost only really worth applying PPF though if your car is in good condition now. Otherwise save your money and grin and bear it would be my advice.

Sills is a common add on to full front. I had rear bumper arches protected. It comes from outside to half way across rear reflector but going all the way to leading edge.

However if there is any stone chips already it won’t seat well. £1800 is going rate for all that.
