Cayman Gen 2 new Double-din fitting question
Discussion
Dear all readers of this post, hi, I am in the process of changing the original spec double din radio for a modern example. Old radio is out, new radio unit, wiring harness, cage etc all purchased correctly and arrived. Cage and harness fitting done but no power, not unusual after reading an excellent old post found in the site. Thanks to all who contributed but is/was 2015 ish in date.
Essentially am I right in thinking that i need to have the orange (Illumination) and red (Ignition live) to be hard wired into the car. These are the only ones loose from the connectors. I did look for a canbus harness etc but the one found and purchased did not match the rather strange OEM block from the car.
How is easy is this to do? or is it best to get a car electrician specialist in to do this?
Happy to help anybody starting or thinking of doing this job.
Regards to all,
Rich
