I had a date to collect mine and then its was stopped by Porsche no reason given to me or the dealership as to whats wrong.
They could at least have had the decency to have given some idea of the reason and what was happening. From previous experience with other cars
they just do not seem bothered.

I've just had a 718 GTS 4.0 as a loan car for 24 hrs whilst my 981CS had its last service before it goes on sale.
Had the CS for almost 6 years so was an interesting comparison (I've already driven several 4 pot 718's).
It was a manual versus my pdk. The gearbox is lovely to use, and nice to get back into one.
It's a noticeable step up in performance, and louder than than I was expecting from what I read/youtube videos. I'd have no problems living with it (my CS has PSE).
The engine is very mechanical, and reminds me of the 996T I had the way it rattles. It's very torquey.
The ride in standard was noticeably choppier/firmer than mine (both cars have PASM).
A couple of things not to my liking; I prefer the way the 981 centre air vents are integrated, and the 718 chrono gauge reflects in the windscreen. The most surprising thing I noticed that although both cars have sports plus seats, I felt I was able to sit lower in my car, which I prefer.
Oh, and I wouldn't have crayon and blacks wheels.
Paul.

Sometimes these things happen so fast it can take a couple of days for the details/fix to make it to the importers. Not even Porsche UK could give an indication of the concern/fix when asked a couple of days ago. Better that than to put your life at risk.
It is possible it is not your cars that have an issue!
The following is not based on any detailed inside information!
Car manufacturers have emissions targets, average across all sales. The penalties for breaching these limits are absolutely enormous.
To meet their target each manufacture must balance their portfolio of sales between high, low and zero emission vehicles.
If Porsche have sold under the allocation of electric or low emissions vehicles or suffered slower delivery of Taycans, they may have to delay supply the higher emission cars to rebalance their total sales.
Given the cars mentioned are normally aspirated models with relatively higher emissions, this may explain why these models are being held back.
If the manufacturers targets are set to be measured at the end of March, either for the quarter or a full year, could this be the reason for the current delays?
As I said at the start, this scenario is not based on any inside knowledge, it’s merely based on adding the pieces together.... and could be entirely wrong!!!

Went it collect my GTS on Tuesday and was given stop sale at point of leaving. I was told there are 62 UK cars in 718 range in stop. No update from Germany as to what the issue is. I understand that’s it’s best to be safe etc but am now losing my patience. I can’t understand if they have identified the issue why they can’t at least tell the customer.
You may be right, however I thought the Paris agreement on climate was behind the control mechanisms.
The Taycan suspension was reported as software. If correct, this could be the catalyst for the sales portfolio being out of balance?
Lots of assumptions.... the outcome of which is probably far off the real reason!!

Hi
Just had word from my dealership that the reason for the no sale on cayman GTS is that it is possible inferior rods have been used on the engines.
This means engines have to come out for the the rods to be replaced. Time wise I was quoted week 20 for this to be done but maybe longer if they
can't source the parts. Great!!

At the factory where engines are assembled the techs are building them up every day.
Will the techs in the OPC workshops do this job competently?
I'd like to think they will, but I'd be a bit concerned.
Are engines bench tested at the factory? Or is that a thing of the past?
