It completely depends if you want an F4 turbo or an F6 NA engine. The other model detail changes are minor in comparison. Only you can know which is more your thing.

The debate has been done to death and it's a very personal decision that only you can answer.

Here are some threads I found interesting about the 718 vs 981 ownership experience:

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1015...

Note the 981s are getting on a bit now (will be at least five years old) so if you go that way I'd personally be wanting an official Porsche warranty on it as a minimum.

981s and 718s are both very reliable, only the PADM transmission mounts seem to be a recurrent problem.

I personally wouldn't worry too much about a warranty on a 981 ot a 718, they're very solid cars and the Porsche extended warranty is quite restrictive.

Yeah, you've never had to claim for a new PDK gearbox... laugh

Some owners seem lucky enough, others, myself included, have experienced a fair few claims making the warranty cost exceedingly worthwhile.
