My Cayman clutch pedal has developed a noise which I think sounds like a squeak when I depress it. The noise only happens when the car is up to normal operating temperature i.e its not present when the car is cold. The car has been into my OPC and they acknowledge there is a noise, however, they are saying its a mechanical noise which is normal and is present in all manual 718's.
I have had the car from new and the noise has only developed over the last couple of months. I have a meeting with the aftersales manager and chief tech next week and it would be really helpful if anyone with a manual 718 could let me know if their clutch pedal makes a noise.

No noise that I've noticed here and after my initial problems with a super-annoying dash rattle I'm pretty sensitive to odd noises.

Thanks for the response. So am I right in saying there is no noise whatsoever when you depress your clutch pedal.

My clutch pedal began making a squeak when released. This would begin happening after a couple of miles of driving. Especially noticeable as the weather got warmer.

I resolved the issue by spraying some WD40 specialist silicone lubricant on the clutch pedal pivot of the peddle box and helper spring. Sorted.

Granted that was on my 17 year old Forester!

Nothing that I've noticed on my manual GTS 4.0 in 2300 miles.
But I went to loads of metal gigs in the 80s and 90s, so if it's a high-frequency sound I probably won't hear it wink

My F56 2018 Mini Cooper S developed a noise when I depressed the clutch, ended up being part of the drivers seat....common fault on the Mini., sold the car before it was fixed.

Following my visit to my OPC, they feel there could be an issue with the clutch master cylinder. They are going to replace it in a couple of weeks time and I will post a further update once the work is completed.

The clutch and brake pedal use a plastic bush to mount to the pedal box. IN the US some of these have been recalled as they wear with use and have to be replaced as the clutch stuck down. I had understood that a better material was being used in more recent cars.

My older 981 squeaked a bit and i got right in and sprayed some silocone lubricant in the bushes and lo it vanished.

My 981 GT4 developed a clutch pedal squeak soon after the dreaded gearbox recall, and when the car was more than 3 years old. It was sorted out under warranty, as I put my (squeaky) foot down about who might be liable for recent repairs. I think there was probably a reassembly error, and in fairnes, it was properly checked out, and full responsibilty taken. It behaved for a good few years until I sold it recently, and I am sure it will for a good while.

I've bought 3 new Caymans from the same OPC since then, including a Cayman GTS 4.0 with a squeaky driver seat mountings that took a bit of getting to the bottom of. That one is still my all-weather daily drive, and I love it. But back then, the dealer took a bit of convincing it was a genuine issue.

Just keep going back until it is sorted @SB718gts40. They are such amazing cars that they deserve to be enjoyed without annoyance or squeaks.

Yep they changed the clutch master cylinder under warranty and that sorted it out (I have changed my forum name since I made the initial post).
