Cayman 981 GTS - new purchase 911 Turbo or Carrera S alloys
Discussion
Evening all, I picked up a really nice 981 GTS yesterday - my second one, and this one I won't make the mistake of selling!
It's got the 911 Turbo wheels, which have been refurnished to a very high standard but I'm not a fan - anyone out there with the Carrera S alloys who'd be up for a swap? Would consider any colour, in good condition or in need or refurb, with financial allowance made for the latter.
Let me know if anyone is interested
Cheers
Simon

thanks both and good to meet you Tim. Cracking car - I had one up until last December and then realised I'd made a big mistake selling!
I've just come out of a 718 GT4, having also had the 981 GT4 as well as the 981 CS and just think the GTS is the absolute sweet spot.
How are you finding the 911?

I’ve had a 987.2 Box a 981 Box GTS then the Cayman but always liked the shape of the wide body 911 and coupled with that power kit engine it’s fabulous. Shall need a few miles before I understand it’s quirks. I have a Porsche original elasticated cargo net for the 981 and the OPC certificate of manufacture should you be interested. 9 Apart had some gloss black Carrera S alloys for that car which I almost bought thinking they’d be the perfect match for the gloss black GTS exterior pack.

Any particular points ? Better for road?I've just come out of a 718 GT4, having also had the 981 GT4 as well as the 981 CS and just think the GTS is the absolute sweet spot.

Perfectly enough grunt for the road and a better sound track than the GT4 to my ears - both variants!
With the PDK box it'll cruise at 150mph in 7th at 4k RPM so comfortable and economical (relatively speaking) so better for the run down to the Alps..
I'd be interested to drive a x73 and PTV equipped manual version as I bet it's more fun more of the time than the GT4 but I want to use mine daily so PDK better suits my use case.
Cracking cars and that's why the residuals remain strong.

Simon - I highly recommend retro-fitting the X73 front and rear anti-roll bars as well as the 718 rear lower brace. It stiffens up the chassis nicely without going to GT4 levels. I agree about the wheels, I love the Carrera S wheels in Satin Platinum on mine. Mine is PDK with PTV, sometimes I wish it was manual but then again I love the PDK when I am 'fully on it' as it turns the car into a proper weapon
