2003 986 Boxster bonnet release
Discussion
Hi, having problems getting my bonnet open on a 2003 Porsche Boxster 2.7
I have released the bonnet a few years via the fuse box by the pedals but this time its not working the alarm goes off.
Is there a release under the front right wheel on the UK models ?
Any thoughts / advise would be much appreciated.

I am having a similar problem with my Cayman as my battery is dead - If you connect to the positive terminal in the fuse box on the drivers side (with a battery) and earth it - you should be able to use your key instead of the buttons near the door to open without the alarm going off. To get to the manual pull cord I believe you need to take off passenger front wheel and under wheel trimming to access the cord -
Had to go through this a couple of months ago and it’s a complete arse!
Drivers side wheel arch.
If you can get the wheel off it will help a lot.
Pull away the wheel arch liner from the front of the wing and reach up to the side of the headlamp (a real pain).
There is a fairly thin wire running by the back of the headlamp - pull it with a short sharp tug.
I suggest extending the cable release to place the end somewhere more accessible!!
