Just seen a link to this article, is this true have Porsche really stopped production of all 718s?

https://uk.motor1.com/news/713119/porsche-boxster-...

The website still allows configuration.

Don’t panic This is only for Europe impacted by new cyber security legislation. UK andUSA and other export markets are not impacted. This is stated clearly in the last sentence of the article

I spoke to someone in the Norwich OPC last week and although they weren't aware of this impending change, they seemed confident that 718s would be available in the UK until mid to late 2025. They stated some concern about availability of the 4.0 model but confident in the 2.0.

718 GT4 no longer on the UK configurator, but the GTS 4.0 is still listed. As is the GT4 RS.

There was a purple 718 Cayman 2.0 "Style" edition in the Hong Kong Porsche showroom when I visited last August last year. Slightly unsurprisingly, it was still there when I visited in December. Shockingly expensive to someone from the UK. We don't know how lucky we are!

As above:-
"However, the stock of new vehicles can still be enquired about at dealers and, according to Tagesschau, the models will also continue to be produced for export markets."

Could they comply with the "Cyber Security Regulations" by removing all the electronic remote control locking gubbins etc and just having a key operated mechanical lock?
I could live with that.

It’s more about the other processor based systems in the car, e.g. hacking into the EPAS unit via a WiFi connection using the heated rear window element, then taking over the steering of the car, like you see at the movies.

GT4 and Spyder for all markets were removed from the configurator when production stopped late last summer.

Other 718 production including the RS will continue for the UK market thanks to Brexit.
