Does anyone know the history surrounding the white 981 Cayman S for sale on the Auto Trader. (LC63TZH)
I understand it has suffered frontal damage, but it isn't categorised.

It has only had 2 owners and covered 51k miles with a good MoT history. Apparently it was well looked after.
But at some point it has suffered damage. The question is, how much damage? And who repaired it?

As of January It is currently for sale. The price could be reasonable or too much depending on the history.

For the benefit of the owner who is advertising the car, and me who interested in possibly buying the car,
can anyone shed any light on the history of this Cayman.

The underside of the car has significant corrosion everywhere, such that brake lines, calipers, nipples, exhaust are all seriously corroded. I haven't seen the car personally, but from enquiries, I think the frontal damage has not been repaired. The Autotrader listing suggests there is rear subframe damage too. So given the car suffered uninsured damage, there could be untold damage. It is located on the Isle of Man, which makes visiting and inspecting it costly. The owner is really transparent and very helpful. Had the car been altogether, corrosion free, it would be valued somewhere like £23k at best. A straight car with service history would be £26k privately. So £23k for a damaged vehicle is generous and optimistic. There are so few potential buyers and these cars are getting older now, that unless it is really cheap, then only the committed would entertain a project.
