Hi guys, currently looking at purchasing a 981 Cayman, just missed out on one close to me having been too slow to pull the trigger.
Was in great condition, interior felt good as new - completely unblemished and no shiny steering wheel or shiny black plastic in the centre console.

A lot of the ones i'm seeing online seem to suffer from a shiny interior and my question is how easy it is to bring these back to life and remove the shine and marks? I know some cars you just can't no matter how hard you try and often times the cleaning products themselves will end up leaving marks and spots where theyve not been used properly.

Also any recommendations for leather or interior plastic cleaners would be much appreciated.

A lot of interiors can be restored back with the right products. It depends on the level of dirt/grime but a detailer will probably have more chance

Alcantara, despite what people say, is much harder to bring back to the factory finish. Once the fibres mat down it's difficult to restore them

Thanks, for some reason an interior detailer never crossed my mind, blinded by the excitement of my first Porsche I think!

No worries, exciting times for sure!

If you are more specific about the interior spec then people can probably help. Unless buying private then would expect most garages to do the interior prep as part of handover, otherwise something that could be negotiated for sure

Zymol leather and zymol vinyl cleaner should clean all that shiny muck off, I don t use anything else after using either as they all distort the oem look.
