A weird theft took place as some p***lock stole the rim from my 987 S's front bumper central vent and dislocated the black plastic vent dish as well. Photos show the car with the rim and vent dish in place and the subsequent rim-less and vent-less-bumper. Rims seem to cost c£135 from Design911 but fitting the vent plastic back in place could entail bumper removal.

Any advice on sourcing a replacement rim and fitting the vent dish and rim would be appreciated.

I have this part from a 997 bumper.

I will check the part number for you.

If it's a match then I will happily post it out to you.

Yes please!! That would be helpful if it's a match.

Indeed. It is most peculiar. Yet I can't see why it would drop off when the car was in motion or in an impact. So I'm assumimg it was a theft. Maybe that's a mistake. Butthe darn thing is missing and needs replacing.

The tabs can break on them and they come loose. Have you hit anything? A pheasant did for the one on our 997.

Hi @Chris944

I hope you don't mind but I have been reading your posts with great interest as I now own your 2005 Boxster S.

We purchased the car with some front damage which has now been fully repaired. May I ask how the damage occurred? It looked quite bad but only required a replacement bumper and headlight.

I must say thanks for keeping the car maintained to such a great level. It really has been a joy to own so far.

Please excuse the rather pretentious number plate, I couldn't resist adding it to the car! smile
