Elusive exhaust bracket - help please!
Discussion
I have recently purchased a Cayman S 987.2 to sit alongside my Boxster. It turns out that the aftermarket DesignTek exhaust is hanging loose and requires a new bracket, part number 36060087FitKit.
Design 911 are saying they are on back order and hope to have availability in August, which is far from ideal.
Can anyone suggest alternative solutions?

Could you not make something up from stainless? - doesn't look too complicated

I reckon so, and I suspect it's one of the four brackets that have failed/cracked, not the actual clamps.https://www.design911.co.uk/uploads/products/897e5...

Temporary fix ? Remove the offending article and have it welded or plated/welded.

That's, in effect, a U bolt welded to a bracket..
Measure exhaust diameter, order 'XXmm Exhaust U Bolt' off your online shop of choice, or in person at any of the factors.
Remove that bracket from the car, it's 2 bolts.
Get a local fabricator to cut knackered U bolt off the end, weld new one on.. and bolt it back on.
Job-jobbed..
If you don't know a local fabricator, post where you are and somebody on here can almost certainly recommend someone.

If I was faced with this, I would go to halfords and buy the correct size u clamp. The pop to B&Q and by a bit of iron bar. Go home drill a couple of holes in the bar and attach under the nuts, then band / twist the bar so it reaches the mounting point cut to length and drill a mounting hole, then fit it.
If you pop over I with some bits and the car i will sort it for you, you can then wait till the correct part is available.

Or when buying the u clamp buy one of these as well

Thank you. Sadly, I am technically inept - I have a track record of botching even the most simple of jobs! Measure exhaust diameter, order 'XXmm Exhaust U Bolt' off your online shop of choice, or in person at any of the factors.

I am in the West Midlands if anyone can recommend a local fabricator.

Thank you so much - that's very kind and I may take you up on your generous offer. If you pop over I with some bits and the car i will sort it for you, you can then wait till the correct part is available.
