Assume you are looking for an independent mechanic than a independent Porsche garage
Maybe ask them at

https://www.porschembri.co.uk/contactus/index.php

https://www.porsche-torque.co.uk/

https://911virgin.com/

as they are in your neck of the woods and may know of someone. Good luck!

Might be worth speaking to Steve Winter at Jaz in St.Albans who look after alot of older 356, 911s and front engined Porsche.

Sure he would give you a recommendation if he can't do it himself. Always would a call.

+1 for Paul.

If the OP is not airport sensitive there's also a good outfit by Gatwick @Nine Excellence.

Paul Anderson in Stroud and Loe Bank Motors in Bury are the two most knowledgeable specialists on all things 928 in the U.K.

All the other suggestions are good/excellent Porsche specialists, but the above two do 928s day in and day out. With an early car, with a Mechanical K-Jet and hard to come by parts, it really is worth having the car transported to the most relevant specialist and not the most convenient.

Also, it is worth joining the mailing list on 928.org.uk - it is an invaluable source of advice and help on all things - from mechanical issues to insurance providers or used parts.

Hope this helps,

A GTS 5-spd x 2 and S4 5-spd owner

Very sound advice I will be contacting Paul Anderson and joining 928.org.uk as I will have a lot of spare parts left over when finished what might help others as I also have a donor car for any parts I might need.
Thank you for your kind help.

Paul will collect your car on the flatbed- about £150 to your neck of the woods probably. 928.org is a good call. The email forum is a bit clunky, but some very knowledgeable people on there.
