Anybody fitted one of these?

Are they worth the money? How loud with cats?
Thanks
Jon

No, what I did was

a) SS Cat-by Pass
b) SS Cup Pipe
c) SS Dansk rear silencer
d) RUF twin tail pipe.

Not sure to be honest as to the performance increases, however the removal of the cat and center section will have improved the flow of the exhaust, and the reduction in weight has to be good! As for the sound - well I love it myself, however when measured at Castle Coombe it came in at 108.5dbm at 4000rpm. Loud!!

previous owner of my RS fitted a cargraphic system - the one with twin pipes - same as what you are looking at? - from memory i think it cost 8k euros according to stuff in car file - might be titanium? - cannot remember to be honest and car is at neil bainbridges @moment. Quality is good but it is LOUD - how loud I will find out as I have a track day planned end of next month and it might be borderline

I have a 'G' pipe kicking around surplus to requirements. It bypasses the secondary silencer so provides a beefier sound and a valid weight reduction.

I'm new to 964s & 911s in general. I've seen these 'G' pipes advertised online. Do they make a big difference to the exhaust note or performance? I was forever playing about with Larini exhaust bits on my previous Maseratis. It's something I like to do. smile

The G pipe literally replaces the secondary silencer ( the one behind the RH rear wheel). Beefy, deep exhaust note and saves around 10kg in weight.

Search the forums, lots of feedback on them to be found.

Personally between a Cup pipe (center section) and G-Pipe (secondary section), my personal preference would be to go for a cup pipe, purely on the basis that its closer to the engine and because its bigger and therefore great weight saving.

However before doing anything check the condition of boxes. If it turns out that the secondary box has rusted out, then changing this becomes a no-brainer, especially as a SS Dansk replacement is about £900 (Porsche is about £1450) and a G-Pipe is about £100. If the secondary is good, then consider replacing the center with a Cup-pipe.

Anybody got experience or opinions on it?
Thanks

You may also want to consider a Scart exhaust. Martin Scart is well known on the continent, less so in the UK. I ordered a so called cup exhaust from him directly and had it fitted by JZM to my 964 RS recently and it sounds very good without being too loud. Replaces the whole back of the exhaust from the cat onwards. They are also priced fairly (around Euro 1200 for the whole thing). I was also able to keep the original exit which was important to me as i was keen to maintain original look.

I have just gone through many setups searching for the right sound.

I have a brand new G pipe and also a stainless Birschoff 964 c2/c4 rear box in excellent condition if anyone is interested in parts.

The 964t and 964 c2/c4 share some exhaust parts.

Different car but this is what I settled on.
