I'm looking at the above this Friday at http://www.williamscrawford.co.uk/yii/explore/inde...
Does anyone have any experience of Williams Crawford? I've read only good things about them, but would you PPI if buying from them anyway? I see they offer that service themselves.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Bloody ppi. What did we all do before they came along. All bought duff cars?
OP IMO you can't buy from a better fella where old school 911s are concerned.
Lovely looking car. Gobsmacked they are worth so much now. When I owned mine it was the narrow body that sold it to me, when I came to sell, I couldn't sell it for love nor money. They were very badly rated just a few years ago.

This is unusual in that it isn't a 'restored' example, but we did make a complete high quality glass out repaint in its original silver metallic
isnt that.. restored? LHD, US car.. i think you could find one much cheaper there and ship it yourself to be honest..
good site for US based vehicles http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/?adtypeFacet=V...

Re ginger step child
, but why exactly?
Engine horribly strangled by US emissions legislation, plus added weight of IB bodywork left it a thoroughly uninspiring drive vs what came before and after.
I don't doubt these issues could be dealt with, but I can't understand paying north of £30k for the least well regarded 911 in history (probably).
Why you would want one over a nice SC for 2/3 of the money I struggle with.......?
YMMV !

This article from Pelican Porsche has a lot of useful info on this generation of 911. I think the car you are looking at is covered by the Pelican article. If not, my apologies. It would appear that its now seen in a better light than previously, and that the engine can fairly easily be 'improved' to increase performance.

Hi Paul,
I had a good look over that car with Adrian about a month ago and it is a nice straight car with great history and the Zeibart has definitely done it's job! It is actually a very pretty little car.
As for dealings with Williams Crawford I can't speak highly enough of both Richard and Adrian, I only popped in there yesterday to see how my guards red SC was coming along and I couldn't be more pleased.
They are super friendly and there is no pressure, you get the impression they know their cars are good and they will sell themselves. I also believe that compared to some of the other specialists their prices are realistic.
If you do end up buying I am sure you would not be disappointed.

As others have said, the seller is without doubt in the op's car as far as I'm aware. However, if it's a 2.7s you're after, I feel this any be better worth a look;

I don't know the car, but it's a lovely colour if you can get away with driving a 2.7s
