Hi Guys, I am helping out a family friend. They have for sale the following and we need to get a valuation as they are inetnding to sell it.

1984 Targa

121,000 miles

RHD

Fully reupholstered with correct fabrics

Overall very nice condition

Obviously I don't have all the details but I would really appreciate a rough guide of what it might be worth and what it should be marketed between. These are not my specialist area so I don't have much idea. I can also ask any further questions if need be if they will alter the value by much. A few pics below.

Ta very much

20 to 25k depending on its exact condition and how you sell it I guess?

PS - I am assuming it is a 3.2 Carrera and not a very late SC with a Carrera spoiler!

Hi Jackal,
As a buyer you'd want to know:

- It's a 3.2 Carrera (looks like it from the front fogs and washers plus rear tray)
- Has the car got any signs of rust (esp kidney bowls, bumpers, headlights)? Have the kidney bowls been done?
- Has it had an engine rebuild (presume not)
- Gearbox will be a 915, how well is it working? Has it had a rebuild?
- As it's a Targa - what state is the Targa roof panel in? Is it split anywhere? Does it leak?
- When was the clutch last replaced?
- Has the suspension been refreshed?
- What state are the oil lines in?
- How worn and the brakes/pads?
- Does the internal heater work? Are the heater flaps jammed?
- Who's serviced it and what's the history like?
- What's the quality of the re-upholstered interior like (not full leather)?

I'd put it in the £16-22k because it's an earlier 3.2 Carrera Targa with 915 box presuming no rebuild. Price will be dependent on the condition/ amount of work it's had done.

Coupe's will always command a premium and I'd look to other examples like this early 3.2 coupe with 915 box to set a price.

Premium would be on a later 87-89 G50 Coupe.

Just interested smile

Might always be worth €232,440. That's what someone paid at the weekend in Paris for a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7L Targa. Assume the RS motor...
