964 C2..what to do, what to do.......
Discussion
Hi All,
In 2013 I bought C2 with approx. 115K on the clock. The car looked tidy enough and drove as good as my other regularly maintained C2...(See profile pic).
I didn't get a PPI on the 2nd one. Trusted my own gut instinct
.
Anyhoo, took it to my trusted 'guy' who suggested that it needed a fair bit of work done on it (full engine rebuild included. Ouch) and to be honest I've just parked it up with a mate who ran it over last summer as his snotter. Was happy to see it being used.
It passed it's MOT last July with no advisory notes which, to be honest, surprised me considering my 'guy's' previous comments. It still goes like the clappers and it does have a leaky bum...but then don't they all?
Paintwork is probably a 7 out of 10.
I'm now at a crossroads with it. I either sell it as seen (with refreshing clarity from my side!) or invest a wedge of cash in getting up to top notch to sell. I'm inclined to go with the latter so wondered who you guys would recommend on the work? They need to be fair and reasonable on cost obviously. I'm based in Scotland so local or North England would be best and easiest. Comments welcomed.

Restore it! If not let me know how much you can as big fan of 964 c2's.
No need to travel out Scotland. I would use these guys for the work:

I haven't used as live down South now. I know people that use them and I visited them last year when back home. Impressed with the whole place, very high skill level.Prices alot fairer than OPC!I'd give Tom Ferguson Porsche in Newcastle/Gateshead a ring if you get the opportunity, they have treated me very well - father and son own the place and seem to have a variety of restoration projects on the go. I haven't seen any 'before' shots, but some of the completed projects I've seen from them have been stunning. Proper enthusiasts, too.
No real affiliation btw, just a happy customer.

Sold a C2 on here last year in the same condition. Needed a top end build, but was in great nick otherwise. Sold for 17k, saw it 6 weeks later up for 29k. I assume they did the work and fair play to them,
I wouldn't bet on it. There have been plenty of examples of 964s being picked up and appearing again a few weeks later with that sort of mark up after little more than a service and a polish.HI All,
Thanks for the feedback. Also, thanks to those (seen and unseen) that have been in touch showing interest regarding a possible sale. I'm putting the car into a specialist over the next few weeks and will know from there what I'm going to do.
It does, however, look like I'm probably going to put the £ in and give it a proper recommission.
