...car raffle...
Discussion
It's not illegal, but it is regulated - I. Short you could not do it unless you had a license from the UK Gambling Commission. Your obvious alternative is to do it for charity - for example sell 60 tickets @£1k each for a car p that cost £40k, with the £20k margin going to charity. A regulated charity would need to run the event. Interesting idea, but someone with £1k to blow on a 60:1 chance probably has £40k to buy the car outright.
Good luck win it.

What's the view of holding a raffle for a car, oh let's say an for a '89 3.2, seeing as you can't buy them now. 60 tickets at £1000 each, car to the winning ticket. Is this legal? Are there 60 people out there willing to take a punt.
I see another flaw.If you cant buy them now, where do you get the car from?

Looks like another aircooled owner who wants to sell his car, but is worried if he sells he'll miss more potential gains so is looking for a comfort buffer.
Looking at the car 911 Virgin sold at £38k and Nick Moss sold (on eBay) for £39k I think looking for a £60k return is optimistic.
No doubt you'll get offers off the back of this thread.
What's the spec, mileage and can we see a pic OP?

no I was only jesting about a raffle, I held one at work once to raise money for a charity and had to register with the local council, get a license, submit accounts etc etc, was a massive ball ache tbh (although we did raise a tidy sum for chariteeeee) I was just wondering if there was a herd of air cooled Paddy Power desparardoes out there! I'm sure when the time comes to sell the car it won't be £60k...although at the moment you never know...!
