Questions for people who really know their targa parts...
Discussion
OK - all questions include 'If you can find the parts' of course.
1) Can you easily turn a 3.2 convertible into a 3.2 targa?
2) Can you easily turn a 964 convertible into a 964 targa?
3) Can you easily turn a 993 convertible into a proper targa using 964 targa parts?
Yes I know number 3 might be the b'stard child from hell.
TIA.

I've got to wonder why you'd want to? I sold a 3.2 Targa about 11-12 years ago that was made into a convertible afterwards without using anyone particularly specialised AFAIK and I believe it turned out OK (don't know if it was a powered hood or manual one though) so I'm sure it *can* be done the other way around.
Before you even look at the labour involved, parts will cost a fortune. The official price for a targa top (vinyl on a folding aluminium frame) is around £7-8000, more like a still-crazy-sounding £3500 for a used one, and I've no idea how much a targa glass screen is - you'd also want to make sure you're properly insured for its replacement if it wasn't original equipment on the car too.

Because the convertible looks like a pram, and the targa is growing on me.
For instance, if I got my old 3.2 convertible back, I'd turn it into a targa. It needed a new hood anyway.
Then I thought if it would be possible to do it to a 993. I.e. is the aperture on the 993 the same as a 964?
Labour costs would be zero.
