We all know that Porsche started "galvanising" body panels in the mid 70's but was this true hot dip galvanising or using Zintec coated steel?

The hot dip galvanising I have seen or had done seems far to rough / uneven for a car body.

Porsche must have had really good QC on the hot dip galvanising process then, if you look at your average galvaniser its a pretty rough process which can lead to runs , heavy build up slag and all sorts of imperfections. Plus it would have added quite a bit of weight to the body. I still cant see how parts like front wings , bonnets etc were galvanised without some distortion.

Reliably informed that its zinc coated steel which was / is used, which makes sense.
