911 service - Preston Lancaster area

I have recently moved to the Preston/Lancaster area and am looking for a good independent garage to service my 911. I used to use specialist cars of malton but it is now to far to travel to. Prefer someone who specialises in air cooled. Any recommendations would be great thanks

I have used Unit 11 in Warrington, good guys who know air cooled Porsches. Mike Bainbridge near Kendal also has a good reputation especially for gearbox overhauls.

Thanks 89, I called Mike in Kendal but he was booked up for a good few weeks, prefer to use somebody that has been recommended. Will have a look at unit 11 and see what they say

I have used all of the local ones.

I am currently using Hartech and very happy.

I have looked at them alvin didn't know if they were a bit expensive,, don't mind spending but don't want to pay over the odds

I rang Hartech when I first got my Porsche, nice to chat to but I felt that they didn't want to take any new air cooled business unless you already were having your car serviced with them.

I 've used Jasmine in Burnley for a few years, Loe Bank also have a very good reputation.

Hi

We still work on air cooled but the appropriate technicians have seasonal workloads and back-logs (such as race car work etc) so at certain times of the year we can't take on new cars. Also, on a case by case basis, we may sometimes only look after cars of a certain age if we service & check over them initially to establish basic condition etc - we find this to be the best way for us to look after them properly.

We'll also be up-front if we feel our provision won't match an owners requirements and are happy to suggest alternatives.

Referring back to a previous comment, we aren't the cheapest but aren't the most expensive by far.
